- Feb Spirit Day: Students to come to school dressed with 'house spirit'
- Swimming gala: Glenn and Vern to MC. Swimmers to be seated together (at the end near the PA), and grade levels to sit together
- Swimming organisation to be communicated during March 10 staff meeting

Discussion:
- Knowledge, Inspiration, Spirit (KIS) initiative: connect spirit with sports/activity days. June to speak about how we can make this 'more visible' during staff meeting.
- Jan House day - fund-raiser for HS refugee kids: Casual day for students. 20 baht donation that will go towards tuition fees for our refugee students. Glenn to organise with House Captains.
- Feb House Day: House Spirit Day - to be organised similar to House Launch, but on the field and with different activities.
- March Quiz (March 26): To be organise with Karl - organise categories and then invite committee members to come up with questions. Use Kahoot!

Action:
- Get details about refugee kids from Mike (Glenn)
- Meet with House captains to organise casual day/fund raiser (Glenn)

Discussion: T2 House Quiz
Management:
- Concerns that students might get very noisy and make it difficult for House captains/contestants
- Audience to be seated in Houses on the floor (no seats)
- Teachers in each House should be positioned so that they can manage children if/when they get noisy
- Bonus points to be given throughout for Houses that sit/listen well (Krista to allocate?)
Running of Quiz
- House captain's roles: 4 Quiz masters; 2 stage managers; 2 score masters
- After question is asked, contestants have 10 seconds to write down their answers (on whiteboards). When time is called they turn the boards around, their answers are checked and points are allocated.
- Mr Noi to run the backdrop visuals and keep a running tally of scores
- Mics: 2 with Quiz masters; 1 with Krista; 1 with Glenn/House committee member
- Contestants for each grade to be waiting side stage with Verne until it is their turn (similar to concert)
Bonus points: Allocated by Krista
- Most well behaved audience
- Biggest House chant/cheer

House Launch Day Meeting: August 26, 2014

- Review of PYP Houses (by grade) and House Launch day (groups) docs
  • PYP Houses by Grade: indicates students in each House and teachers that are to assigned take students down to PYP undercover area
  • House Launch Day Groups: indicates which students are in which group and the teacher that will be in charge of that group for the rotation activities
- Some group leaders changed
- Activities and responsibilities for organizing materials
- EY participation: 12.00-12.20. KG/G1 teachers on duty to make sure that students on playground don't enter the undercover area during lunch play
- Organization of assemblies: Glenn and Verne to lead, house captains to be introduced and give a brief overview of House characters. Assemblies (morning and afternoon) to finish with House chants (led by House captains)

  1. Tower building: students build the tallest tower with wooden blocks. Scored by measuring in cm.
  2. Hoop pass: students pass hoop over/under other students in a circle without letting go of hands. Scored by how many students pass the hoop on.
  3. Obstacle course: students run through the course, scored by how many kids get through. One can't start until the other is finished.
  4. Ping pong ball and spoon: Relay race with a ping pong ball and a spoon. Points awarded
  5. Yarn knot challenge: Students work together to tie the longest line of yarn. String will be measured and points allotted after all groups have completed the rotations (i.e.longest = 50 pts, 2nd 40 pts etc.)

- Decided venue change: events this year to be held on the PYP undercover area
- No specialist classes before lunch on the day
- Afternoon assembly to be held from 1.50-2.15 to award points
- EY1 & 2 can complete the activities at a time of their choice (after lunch)
- Decided to stay with the same (slightly modified) format:
  • Launch assembly: 8.10-8.30
  • Erawan: 8.40-9.05
  • Tosakan: 9.10-9.35
  • Hanuman: 10.00-10.35
  • Naga: 10.10.40-11.15

- There will be 5 activities:
